Research Description

I am an anthropologically trained archaeologist specializing in economic systems in early Korean and Chinese states and complex societies. My work focuses on patterns of production and consumption of everyday goods such as pottery and staple foods, which help us understand how societies functioned, organized themselves, and related to their neighbors. My current research uses Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis on pots from Korean cultures to better understand political economy and social complexity at the beginning of Korea's Three Kingdoms period.
